When Anarchy General Manager Extraordinaire Joshua Samson, Esquire stepped off of the elevator it was clear what room he wanted. It was the one with the tall woman dressed in a jade green wrestling singlet standing guard outside.
Joshu knew her as Jade, and knew that her being there meant that was the room he wanted. She let him in, closing the door quietly behind him.
Inside, Joshua saw the Wild Cat, Savannah- lying quietly on a standard hospital bed, surrounded by equipment both high tech and more arcane than he thought possible- some beeping with action, others waiting quietly for the need to arise.
"They had to cut her open… To stop the blood."
Joshua turned his gaze from Savannah's bed toward the speaker- Velvet Grey. She was dressed similarly to Jade, her own singlet matching her steel grey, currently clouded, eyes. Right now the former wrestling superstar looked like a little, frightened girl.
Velvet Grey: "She's pretty out of it right now."
For a moment her visage showed the steel again. As she spoke Joshua could imagine why.
Velvet Grey: "So. How did you manage to slip your leash?"
Joshua Samson, Esquire: The closest thing to a leash I wear is the high end silk ties around my neck, Velvet.
The jab at his fiancee didn’t go unnoticed but considering the current situation why stir the pot anymore?
Joshua Samson, Esquire: As soon as I got the call I rushed over. You’re thinking the internal bleeding was due to her match with Joanna earlier tonight on Mayhem?
It was obvious that Velvet had been on an emotional roller coaster ride from the moment Savannah collapsed, and now she began another dip, turning away from Joshua to look at Savannah's bed.
Velvet Grey: I'm sorry, Joshua. I...I'm not feeling very tactful at the moment.
She sighed.
Velvet Grey: Blunt force trauma, they said. Like she'd been kicked in the chest. I doubt any of them ever watch wrestling.
Velvet snorted at a private joke, then darkened. Her roller coaster whipping through humor and depression.
Velvet Grey: She could have died, Joshua. They almost killed her!
Depression gave way to fear, and fear to anger as the circuit completed once again. She spun on Joshua again, eyes flashing as she addressed him.
Velvet Gray: You and Sav were planning on announcing a move to Anarchy at Meltdown, right? I need you to move it up to yesterday!
She turned from him, pacing the floor in a way that matched the Wild Cat pacing her cage.
Joshua Samson, Esquire: I don’t know if that is a wise move, Velvet. Besides Savannah will surely be looking for some revenge.
Velvet Grey: I know her, Joshua. Savannah doesn't back down. The next time she faces a Rissi they'll succeed in getting rid if her! I… I don't care if she hasn't signed any paperwork. Give it to me and give me an hour and…
She stopped hearing a moan from Savannah- turning and rushing to her bedside as the Wild Cat looked up at her with a weak smile.
Savannah: Good morn… Wait…
Sav moved to look around, hissing as the pain of her body over ran the drugs used to fight it. She looked at Joshua, then Velvet, with concern.
Savannah: I… I blacked out?
Samson makes her way over to stand at the bedside near Velvet. He smiles down upon the young woman.
Joshua Samson, Esquire: Quite a scare you gave everyone, Savannah.
Savannah looked from one to the other as the information found its way through the maze of drugs.
Velvet Grey: You almost died on me, kitten. Don't ever do that again.
She brushed a stray curl from Savannah's face before looking at Joshua.
Joshua Samson, Esquire: Perhaps I should give you ladies some time alone? I don’t mean to intrude.
Velvet chuckled.
Velvet Grey: I don't think she's up for anything that would require you to leave. Besides, I believe I put an offer on the table?
Joshua Samson, Esquire: Indeed you did, Velvet, but something as career changing as that I’m going to have to hear it from Savannah herself. And in all fairness, you aren’t her manager anymore.
Savannah laughed.
Savannah: You can't manage what she manages, hon. Not with that ring around your finger.
Her mood darkened a bit.
Savannah: Speaking of, Joshua. If you two were talking about what I think you were. I want her first up! Not just because of the shit between us but…
She tried to raise herself in her bed- but Velvet stopped her.
Savannah: From what I saw she treats a lot of people like shit, not just me. Call it a mama cat thing, but I can't let that go without kicking her ass!
Joshua Samson, Esquire: The first thing you need to do is not worry about coming to Anarchy or facing Astrid. You’re in a hospital bed and your only concern needs to be resting and letting the doctors do what they do to make you better. Once they give the okay then we’ll all sit down and discuss your career moves. Deal?
Savannah nodded.
Savannah: Deal. But we need to hash this out, one way or another. I won't have you caught in the middle!
Velvet smiled as she literally tucked the Wild Cat in.
Velvet Grey: You heard the man. Quit thinking about that and get some rest. Oh, I'm taking your Twitter over again, like we did during Asylum. I know how you get when the twits are out.
Smiling down upon her, Samson gently strokes the top of Savannah’s head.
Joshua Samson, Esquire: If you need me for anything I’m just a phone call away, okay?
Savannah chuckled, but Velvet laid a shushing finger to her lips before she said what Velvet knew she would.
Velvet Grey: We will. Thank you, Joshua.
The Velvet Fox (Yes, Joshua had done his homework) led Joshua to the door and let him out.
