Alex was staying in his Los Angeles home for the upcoming show, but circumstances caused him to take a little...detour. Remington suddenly shows up in front of corporate headquarters in Detroit, storming into the building and ignoring the shouts of the secretary as he marches up to the office of Justin Taker, opening the door.
"It's a shame that I have to fly all the way to this shithole of a city just to see my boss. I would have thought you would have at least given someone like me the time of day."
Remington smirked, leaning against the door as he closed it behind him.

Sitting at my desk doing some boring paper work shit, I looked up as Alex Remington stood there apparently angry at the location where he stands.
"If you wanna fund us moving to another city, be my guest. I'll let you draw up the blueprints to the building as well."
After I finished that, I put down my pen and reorganized some papers on my desk and sat back in my chair.

Remington cracked a smile, laughing a bit as he allowed himself to sit down in a chair in front of Taker's desk.
"Something about you owner types - always so uptight and never can take a joke."
He smiled, again standing to his feet as he extended his hand.
"We haven't had the pleasure of meeting personally. It's good to see you Justin."

I cracked a smile. I knew Remington knew I was busting his balls right back at him, but whatever. I extended my hand out to his and we shook with firmness.
"Nice firm handshake. I like the first impression."
We sit back in our respective seats.
"And you're correct, we haven't talked in person yet; which is honestly a damn shame. It's a pleasure, sir. But you're obviously not here to kiss my ass or beat around any sort of bush."

He smiled, sitting back down in his seat.
"Ah, it's so refreshing to speak to a man that doesn't expect me to kiss his ass. See, that's usually where the problem starts. I say one thing to criticize the bossman, and suddenly all hell breaks loose, they take things personally, and then I'm found looking for another job. At least you seem to have thicker skin than others that I have worked for in the past."
Alex shook his head, adjusting his tie slowly.
"Everything I do is for a reason; you have that right. I wouldn't fly to this city at this time purely to make first impressions. You see Justin, I'm not here simply to win championships, though I will do that many times. I'm not here to simply be another guy in the back. Many have come and many will go, but I assure you that you have never or will never see another star like yours truly."
"Now don't get me wrong Justin; I like what you've done with the place. But I'm here to change things for the better. I'm here to revolutionize this company and take it to heights unforeseen. I will change the culture around here, and the things I will do for this company will actually bear fruit - unlike the 'changes' Mr. Sah'ta Thor seems to want to push."

I listened patiently. After he was finished, I sat up and leaned forward on my Honduran Mahogany desk. I adjusted my glasses and pushed some of my hair back behind my shoulders. I gave some thought to what was just said in my direction.
"Thicker skin comes from being a man, Alex. But you already know that. Having thick skin is also another way to say that you have a backbone, which I can already tell we both have. That'll make one thing difficult."
I sat back, re-adjusted my glassed, and took a nice long inhale.
"I'm tough to persuade, but you're the kind of person who won't take no for an answer I'm willing to bet. But don't get me wrong; I'm interested in hearing what exactly you had in mind in reference to said 'changes for the better'. 'Revolutionizing the company, and new unseen heights', as well as I've gathered.
Do tell."

Leaning back in his char, Remington rubbed his fingers together slowly before speaking.
"In time...in time. You see, Rome was not built in a single day; nor shall the true rebirth of EHWF. But speaking of Mr. Thor, I trust that when I'm still champion on October the 28th, you will sign the match I demanded to happen, right? I'm tired of waiting; I don't feel like waiting to see if Thor will accept. I don't like the guy; that is no secret, and it's time to show the EHWF world who really does have all the stroke around here."
Remington cracked a smile, shrugging his shoulders.
"I'll give you a hint also; your golden boy DGS isn't the one with all the stroke either."

I nodded, soaking it all in. I indeed knew about the match Alex wanted to throw; and it would be a rather brutal endeavor.
"You're correct, in that neither DGS nor Thor have any of the stroke in the decision making of your career. You issued the challenge, and Thor hasn't answered yet. Interesting."
I leaned back and lifted my feet and planted them on my desk. I rubbed my chin and scratched a cheek as I have it some thought.
"Well, Mr. Remington..."
I put my feet down and lean forward.
"That match you want against Thor on the 28th of this month will happen. Whether Thor wants to or not. What can I say? I like to watch my employees bleed."

Remington cracked a smile, standing to his feet.
"I have to admit; part of making your company better is to clean it up a bit, but making others bleed is just fine by me. I'm not talking about going 'PG'; we've seen how that is, but I digress...
He paused.
"And don't worry; I'll still be champion on that date, and there's nothing Scotty Paine or his silly wife can do about it. There's nothing this Empire of Blood can do about it. As I've said before, they can bring the multitudes, and I'll take them out as I stand stronger alone."
"I'm glad we've come to an understanding Mr. Taker; I'm sure we'll be doing even more business together in the future."

"I understand the whole cleaning up aspect; believe it or not, Scorpion and I have been trying. EHWF was a total bloodbath before and things just got really messy. We're trying to keep the same intensity, only cleaner so its easier to digest and it's taken more seriously than full on flood transfusions in the ring every match every week."
I listened to the rest of what Remington had to say.
"Please, sir. Call me JT.
Also, I do indeed hope to do business with you again in the future. I hope to see you around more as well. But, before you leave..."
I leaned back and opened a drawer. I pull out two crystal clear glasses and a bottle of Smirnoff's Triple Distilled Vodka. I opened the bottle and poured it into one of the glasses and held it in front of Alex.
"Would you like to have a drink? On me."

He looked down at the bottle, then back at Taker.
"I have to say, after my last two bosses, I didn't think having drinks with one would be in the cards. I like your thinking."
He sat down, taking his drink.
"By the way..."
He looked a bit nervous as he said this, looking around as he made sure no cameras were watching him.
"Have you heard anything on Jaci? Naturally she isn't in the mood to speak to me...but you have to understand, my father is the only reason I did what I did. He believed I needed to prove I could look past her to further my career. I sit here today as a sorrowful man I must admit; it never was my intention to take her out of the business altogether."

I poured myself some liquor while listening to Remington. I find it rude to drink while someone else is speaking, so I hold off. When he finishes, I down what I'd poured for myself. Naturally I picked up the bottle against and pour myself more as I answer him.
"I haven't heard any major updates on Jaci as of yet. I get a call from her doctor every day because I requested it, and he fills me in on anything and everything. So far, not a hell of a lot. She's getting all the rest she needs and it's helping her recuperate. Could be some time, however."
I downed my second drink of vodka. I placed the bottle in the middle of the desk, so if Remington wants more he can just take it.
"And about what happened. I know it was your father. I didn't fully understand until not long before War, but it made sense. Listen, don't beat yourself up. You did what you had to do; it would make you less of a man if you didn't."

"I guess..."
He sighed, shaking his head.
"I know I should go see her, but I suppose it would seem in poor taste, given that I'm the man who took her out. I may go to many lengths to get what I want; I have been known to do many unthinkable acts...but I am not proud of what I've done. I know I had no other choice, but I feel...disgusting."
He slowly drink from his glass, thinking.
"When she comes back, I know I'll get what I deserve from her. That's fine...I don't care. She deserves to do her worst to me."

I give Alex a rather shocked expression.
"Visiting her in the hospital would absolutely not be in poor taste, my friend. You could probably go over there, apologize, bring a nice bouquet of flowers, and spend a little time talking to her. If anything, she'd probably feel a little better. It appears to me that not many have visited her since her arrival. If I were her, I'd be quite lonesome."
I poured more alcohol and drank.
"Then again, you never know with women. They're the hardest living things to predict and you'll never get the same reaction twice. I learned that very important lesson the hard way; just ask my ex-wife."

"You're probably right; knowing her, she would appreciate the visit. But then again, I don't deserve her friendship. I don't deserve her trust. I've broken all ties with the woman I once loved, and that will never be mended."
He sighed, standing up and walking over to the door.
"I'll see you around JT."

"Alex. I appreciate your time. Go forth, young one."
He nodded and cracked a little smile and left the room, and shut the door behind him. I poured myself some more vodka and went back to doing boring paper work shit.
End Scene.
