Normally I'd wait for results to be final to go through this, but knowing what I put up and what others put up I have to ask: Does anyone know a cure for the doldrums my writing is in?
Seriously, one week I find motivation and write like I can't stop, the next I'm back to polishing turds like what I posted this week. Sometimes I wonder if I'm not wasting your time with my effort.
I know lots of you have CR in your RP's, but all the angles I've ever had for CR have gone belly up recently, leaving me with nothing but promo shoots.
I WANT to get out of this, I WANT to do better, I WANT to get back to where I was before... I just need advice on HOW to get there.
Thanks in advance. PMs welcome if you don't feel like answering here.

One thing that really helps is communicating with people. If there's someone you think you would like to work a feud with, don't be afraid to ask them. The worst they can tell you is no, but more than likely they'll be just as into as you are. Everyone is always looking for something fresh to do around here. It's always about finding your characters personality and being consistent. You want Savannah to stand out. Most of my promo's are shoot, so I know how it goes. My CD work is still weak, but the more you build relationships with others here, the more you'll have to write about, which is what I'm trying to do. Remember, you're promo doesn't necessarily have to be 100% match related. You want the majority of it to be, but you want to leave room for showing the audience who Savannah is. Write in a first person point of view and get into the mind of Savannah. What is she thinking? What emotions does she feel? Things like that really bring a personality to life and it'll doing nothing but help your promo's get better.

I know this thread seems really old and I've only been here for two weeks, but I've got a little more advice to give you that I only recently learned myself. You could do CD pieces of Savannah's past like from years ago from how she got into the wrestling business and what got her interested in wrestling which is the story I'm doing for Lord Raab right now and since then, I've really gone places so if there's one advice I can give you, even if the thread is out of date and may not need the advice now, it's that.

Nearly every story I have here is pre planned and discussed. I think in order to get the best rivalries and fueds you need to plan ahead.
Matches are only good if they have meaning. Feel free to hit me up on pm.

Think of your character as a form of your life. I have Tommy and Scott, two different spectrums of my own.
No, I don't have a cocaine addiction but a very close person to me does. Scott chooses to live his life in the moment. Having never really experienced what it was like to truly live, he wants to live life to the fullest because in reality he is actually afraid of death. The lifestyle he lives, the drugs and partying and such, bring him closer to death than anything he could do in a ring but they're his ways of coping with his own everyday struggles, living a fake life for millions of dollars.
With Tommy, he feels as though he is trapped inside of his head all day. His thoughts overwhelm him in his everyday life and its a struggle for him to function. But he feels as though he has a lot to prove to a lot of people and thus he pushes himself forward, with the thoughts of being known as a failure long after his time has passed being used as a motivator in his career. This is more or less closer to me.
Pull motivation from experiences in your own life and try to make them relative in your character's.

One thing that I always try to do with my character is I try to connect myself to my own character. In some past CD's that I've written I've melded my own reactions to some experiences that I may not go through personally, however in some circumstances there are people in the world who go through the same things.
With Jason, I've done a variety of character developments in order to really create the character of who he is: An arrogant, psychotic and sadistic human being. I really enjoy trying to different ideas and implement them into the character and really try to broaden the horizons and possibilities. This is a fantasy fed, you could even make her be the person you dream to be blah blah blah, all that. The ceiling his high but you can't make it over the top unrealistic like "I poop unicorns out of my ass."
I guess what I'm trying to say is, find some sort of connection with you and your character and try a variety of ideas. If one doesn't work then that's fine, but the key is to not get frustrated. If you do get frustrated, use that emotion in order to develop your character. Your emotions are really the key to your writings, they're the key that unlocks a beautiful piece of writing.
