After many conflicting social media reports, it was confirmed earlier today that ex-Extreme Hardcore Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Champion, Bill Ryder, was injured a three days ago while practicing grappling maneuvers. Per Ryder’s own Twitter account, “during our morning grappling skills one of the other guys got pushed back and accidentally rolled right into the back of my legs. I took an awkward fall and my left leg got twisted up causing my knee to swell up immediately.”
With EHWF holding their annual Last Rites pay-per-view in Chicago, Illinois, Ryder was booked in the headlining main event match against Kevin Hunter and reigning Heavyweight Champion, Oliver Black in a Triple Threat Match for the Heavyweight Championship now that match seems to be in grave jeopardy.
It is unclear the severity or extent of Ryder’s injury. No one from Ryder’s camp or the EHWF offices has committed to an official statement at the time of this printing.
UPDATE: At an EHWF press conference moments ago, it was announced that Bill Ryder will indeed be removed from the Triple Threat Match for the Heavyweight Championship. Anarchy General Manager Joshua Samson, Esquire stated that Ryder will not be replaced but instead the match will strictly be a one-on-one affair between Kevin Hunter and Oliver Black.
