The image comes into focus in the semi filled front parking lot of the Phoenix Nest with the camera focused on the front of the building. A few seconds pass before the image shifts to just inside the building.
Sah'ta Thor: Welcome to the Phoenix Nest, the former home of the long defunct Phoenix Wrestling Enterprises.I realized that many in the current EHWF fan base may have never seen this place. So today, I want to show you the place while talking to you about a few things. As we begin I will admit that this building was constructed back in August 2009 entirely funded by me through Imperial Enterprises. When the company I built this for went under I retained rights to the building and have since turned it into a major training hub for the region.
As Thor speaks he moves forward into a lobby lined with various display cases. Each filled with shells of awards and wrestling belts from all over the world.
Sah'ta Thor: Here is the main lobby and as you can see it is filled with multiple display cases. Each trophy, title, or award displayed here was won by either a member of the Empire of Blood, Insidious, or Thorn Enterprises when it comes to professional accolades. Yes that means the accomplishments of every wrestling member of my family be they blood related or by marriage are shown here. As well as the accomplishments in the industry of my students. Additionally, in these cases are the achievements of the Imperial Youth Wrestling talents. Which means besides the accolades of over two dozen professional wrestlers there are hundreds over others represented here.
The camera pans over the display cases so the audience can see the rich history represented within them.
Sah'ta Thor: I personally have 48 various championships on display, as well as 5 Hall of Fame rings and roughly a dozen other career accolades. Yet, let's continue on the tour before this becomes a trip down ego inflation lane.
With that Thor walks past an obvious concession stand area before walking into an large arena with a wrestling ring and entry stage clearly set up.
Sah'ta Thor: Here is the main ring for events here at the Phoenix Nest. At max capacity I believe this arena can seat 70,000. As you can see the first 20 rows of seats are set up to be moved should the match type call for it. There are several different setups for the announcing teams depending on the event in question. I say this because there are several local indy companies that use the Phoenix Nest for their events.
Thor walks down the steps towards the ring with a slow steady pace as he speaks. Arriving down on the ground level you could see that the rows of chairs there were moveable. Moving to the guardrailing he slides one open and steps towards the ring. Anyone who was a long time fan of either Thor or EHWF itself would recognize the ring from past video uploads.
Sah'ta Thor: I have filmed quite a few promoes in this ring over the years as well as a few other places in this complex.
He walks up the ramp towards the backstage area.
Sah'ta Thor: Back here is access to the locker rooms, costuming, medical, recording studios, film study rooms, and various staff offices. Additionally there you can get to the complex's athletic facilities, which I will walk you through shortly.
As Thor talks he passes by multiple doors. There is a large locker room for both men and women as well as over a dozen smaller locker suites for groups, teams and top tier solo acts. As he continues through the backstage area he passes 4 doors labeled as medical, one set up near each of the main locker rooms. Turning down a hallway he enters an area with half a dozen recording studios for both sound and video recording.
Sah'ta Thor: As you can see this complex has plenty of room for promo recording. After all, this was supposed to be the home of a wrestling company so I wanted to ensure the success of the company. Down this way are several computer rooms for adding post recording effects and merging videos in final products. As an aside this was set up to also help with the audio/video production side of the industry. After all, wrestlers aren't the only part of the wrestling industry.
As he is talking Thor had walked through a couple of computer rooms before heading down towards a couple of small theater rooms.
Sah'ta Thor: As many athletes know, film watching is a key part of the training process. Oh god the number of hours I have spent watching matches on opponents and myself during my career has to be in the tens of thousands. So I ensured there were a couple of viewing rooms for easy access and use.
With that Thor steps out of the theater room he had walked into and turns back down the hall walking back towards the locker room area. Passing by them he heads down towards the costuming area.
Sah'ta Thor: Now here is the Costuming Area. Within this area there are half a dozen tailoring stations for outfit making. Additionally, there are half a dozen makeup chairs as well as the same number of hairdressing chairs. Again, I wanted to make sure that the PWE wrestlers had plenty of space to be show ready. Over the years dozens of people have learned and perfected their costume effect training here.
Walking back towards the lockers Thor turns down a hallway that ends at a door. He passes through it and the camera pans around a large room with various cardio machines around it. In the center of the room are a bunch of yoga mats for training. On the other side of the room is a doorway.
Sah'ta Thor: And here we are in the athletics facility. This is the cardio and yoga workout area.
Thor moves across the room and steps through the door to show a huge weight training room with a bunch of machines and free weights.
Sah'ta Thor: Here is well all the weight training and traditional muscle workouts can be found. Additionally, there is a track outside. The grass area inside of it has multi ropes and flip tires for specialized training.
Turning around Thor walks back out to the cardio room then back down the hallway. Getting to the locker room he steps inside as the camera darkens for about ten seconds. When the camera comes back on it shows an aquatic area. The area has an Olympic sized pool in the central area. Off to one side are a pair of therapy pools for rehabing purposes. On the other side is a large hot tub. Additionally, along one wall is a sauna and a steam room.
Sah'ta Thor: This is the pool area which I have spent thousands of hours in over the years. I have even filmed a few promos here.
He laughs slightly before the camera fades to black. When the image comes back up it reveals an office that has appeared multiple times over the years in Thor's promos. Thor is shown sitting behind a redwood desk in a t-shirt and jeans. Along the top of the walls are displays with replicas of the wrestling titles he had won in them.
Sah'ta Thor: Now many of you may recognize this office from the uploads I have made over the years. Yet, in the end that doesn't matter much for what I want to talk to you about today. As you saw from the short tour I gave you before coming up here, the Phoenix Next is a training center and practice center for the wrestling industry. I didn't show you the boxing and wrestling gym that is off to the other side of the cardio room. Since I took back the Phoenix Nest this place has been used by thousands of indie and Imperial Youth Wrestling talents. At one point I had hoped to open my own wrestling company with this as its home arena when not out on tour. However, various things have come up over the years that have made that dream not become a reality. One of those things being the realization that I don't have the personality to be in charge of the day to day operations of a company. Which things in a wrestling company require a lot of day to day attention. So I guess it is more a matter of knowing my own weakness over being too ambitious.
Thor shakes his head slightly as he chuckles slightly.
Sah'ta Thor: Before I get distracted again, I have to address a matter that by now has now occurred. Yet, to do that I think I will shift to another recording so that it can actually be used in a show.
With that the video fades to black.
