She was beauty. In every essence of the word. At least, to Raven, she was. His eyes longed to see her lovely British face once again. His hands yearned to touch hers. His body wanted to once again feel the closeness the two of them shared. Granted, all of this, apparently, was an illusion. Or, at least Sara told him that this was an illusion. Before she left, and before Raven went to the Psych ward, (which was thanks to Sara) Sara had told him that she never loved him. She told him she felt sorry for him, and that she could never ever love a loser.
Raven cried. What else could he do? This woman, who had spent 3 years with him on the independent circuit, told him that she didn't love him. As a matter of fact, sitting here in his locker room, a tear fell from his eye. He had wanted nothing more than to settle down with Sara, to maybe, JUST MAYBE, have some sort of...Normal life. However, all of that was pushed from his thoughts. She was gone, never to return again.
A knock at Raven's locker room door jarred him from his deep thoughts. A sniffle escaped, an arm wiped a tear, and Raven composed himself. Who in the world was knocking at his door anyways? The only run-in he'd had in EHWF to this point was with Korey Kill. And, certainly, he had no reason to attack Raven. Or any business with Raven, for that matter. His eyebrow raised, his hand stretched towards Jake. Jake was his railroad spike. He felt giving it a name made it more personal. He stood, slowly, and approached the door. Opening it, his jaw dropped.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"No. No. NO. Absolutely NOT. I will NOT go back to America and manage in that STUPID company."
Sara's voice exploded through the telephone. Her agent, Gillian, had promised her millions of dollars if she just signed a contract back with EHWF. Ugh. EHWF. Memories of that God-Forsaken place. That STUPID Scrambles. She hated him. She hated his guts. His murderous ways made her want to murder...HIM! Her mind shifted to Raven. Raven Blackheart. He was her little lap doggy. He did everything that she wanted him too, and she LOVED it. However, he thought that she loved him. HA Please. Don't make her laugh. Although, ever since that day, she hadn't connected with a male in the same way. It was the way Raven looked at her. The way he listened to her. The way he stroked her hair when she was crying. Okay enough! NO. She was not signing.
"Look, I can get them to give you two and a half million for two years. That's five mill by the time you're thirty. You gotta say yes to this Sara!"
Sara sighed.
"Fine! Fax the contract. I'll fly out tonight. Be there in the morning. God I hate you."
Sara hung up. The paperwork was immediately faxed, filled out, and re-faxed to Gillian. Sara made travel arrangements, packed a bag, and headed out.
She arrived at the EHWF arena around 5:40 the next day. Exhausted from her flight, all the legal work, and all the meetings she had to attend for EHWF, she just wanted to go to her locker room and sleep. EHWF told her they had no idea who she was going to manage, or when she'd start, but they had her her own private locker room. She relished that thought, walking down the hallway, ready to get some much needed sleep.
As she continued walking, a nameplate stuck out to her. It read: Raven Blackheart. She swallowed. She hadn't any idea that he was working here. Last she heard, he was under Psychiatric care. She stopped and turned towards the door. Why? Why did she care so much about this? Why did she get the sudden urge to knock. Better yet, why did she? Her knuckles rapped against his door and she stood there, awkwardly. A long silence passed as she waited. And waited. Finally, she almost left before the door slowly opened and that face was looking right at her with his sad eyes.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"It...It...It's you. Sara...Wh.."
Raven was too awed to speak. His eyes glanced over Sara. Still beautiful as ever. Still the woman he knew he was in love with. He took a couple steps back and left the door open to allow her to come in. He sat on the couch, never once taking his glance away from Sara, expecting her to be an apparition. She gently walked in, adjusting her black, slender dress, and shut the door. Her black heels clicked against his locker room floor as she walked over and sat next to him. Her eyes looked up at his and a slight smile formed across her face.
Hello, Raven."
Raven, reached over to give her a hug. Right before he touched her, he remembered she didn't care about him in that way. Awkwardly, and visibly sad, he pulled back. Sara gave a slight laugh before leaning over and hugging him. His arms immediately wrapped around her body. He held her close. She even stroked his hair a bit. He was all smiles, and unknown to him, so was she.
"But..Why? How... God it's so good to see you Sara. You don't know how much I've missed you."
Raven pulled away, looking at Sara's face. She noticed his cheeks were a bit tear stained. So, he still loved her? After all these years, all the heartache she put him through, all the treatments and such. He was still 100% in love and devoted to her. It touched her heart a bit. Made her wish she actually did love him. She shook her head.
"I work here now. Managing again. Apparently, I can choose my own clients this go round. They're arranging for me to go 'scout' talent night in and night out. Sounds boring. But the pay's excellent and the benefits are amazing..."
Raven perked up.
"Why didn't you just say you needed a client? I'm right here. Waiting! Let's go! Dominate this place like we should have three years ago!"
The smile on his face was new. She admitted, she liked him with a smile. He was kind of cute, with his out of place pink hair. A solemn smile came across her face.
"I honestly didn't know you worked here first off. And secondly, Raven...I don't think me managing you is right..Not now at least. It's been three years since we've seen each other. I thought with everything you went through...Every bit we've spent apart, it would change things. But..It didn't. You still love me. I've changed, Raven. I don't want to lead you on anymore. I feel like that's exactly what I'd be doing. I..I'm sorry. I can't. Not now."
She gently patted his hands, and looked into his eyes. Raven was crying. It was 2009 all over again. She stood and began walking towards the door. However, his voice stopped her.
"All the psychiatric treatment, all the time, all the space, all the EVERYTHING I went through was for YOU Sara. I love you. I just don't know why you won't love me back."
Sara turned her back, a tear in her eye. She walked towards the door and gently turned the door knob. The last thing she heard before closing the door was massive sobs coming from Raven in his locker room.
