A young man could be seen sitting at a bus stop somewhere in Downtown Atlanta. He wore a black hoodie that had the hood pulled up over his head making it hard to make out just who exactly was underneath it. A black and white Under Armour gym bag rested beside him on the hard concrete. He took a deep breath before breathing it out slowly allowing the cold air to turn it into a cloud. The young man reached into the front pockets of his hoodie and pulled out a pack of cigarettes and within the blink of an eye he had one of the cancer sticks placed in his mouth. He returned the pack and patted himself down looking for a lighter that had obviously vanished since the last time he used it.
??: "Son of a bitch. Where did I put that thing?"
A moment later a lighter is flicked to life in front of him.
Munin: Heh those things are bad for you.
He took a long drag before blowing out a plume of smoke. The young man removed the cancer stick from his lips and looked up to lock eyes with the woman known simply as Munin. He couldn't help allowing himself to smile as he got up from his feet to greet her.
??: "What are you doing here?"
Tucking the lighter into her black coat pocket she peers up at him with a a bright innocent smile. A cat eared black hat tops the effect off, making her the poster child for how to be adorable and sexy at the same time.
Munin: Maybe I was just out for a walk and happened to run into you...Alex.
Alex: "If I didn't know you so well Munin I might actually believe that. But the problem is I do know you so I can tell when you're full of shit. So why don't you tell me what you're out doing this time of night in this part of town?"
Munin gives a small pout folding her arms across her chest with a huff.
Munin: Kill joy...
Alex: "No, I'm Alex. Killjoy was that crazy robobitch that had a thing for Davina remember?"
Her pout suddenly melts into a devious grin. The cuteness she exuded moments before taking on a darker edge.
Munin: Oh yes I remember her....
Alex: "So what's got you down here this time of night Munin?"
He took another long drag before tossing the cigarette to the ground and mashing it out with the heel of his white Jordan's. With a chuckle her innocent facade melts away.
Munin: I'm here looking for you Alex I came to see if you wanted to play a new game.
Her mouth quirks into a half smile. Her dark eyes mischievous in the dim light.
Alex: "New game? Well I was getting bored with the old one."
He looked at Munin with a puzzled look.
Munin: I would be too if I were you. I mean really...how many world heavy weight champions do you have to defeat?
Alex: "Apparently the work I put in here doesn't amount to a damn thing."
Munin nods her head in empathy.
Alex: "So what did you have in mind?"
Munin: You deserve much more Alex. You have defended your title against not just main events but legends....repeatedly! It's the EHWF...I just signed on. They actually appreciate people with our...talents.
He allowed himself to laugh slightly.
Alex: "Talents? You mean inflicting pain and enjoying it?"
Munin gives him a suddenly thoughtful look.
Munin: Hmmm...I would say that that is only part of the fun.
Alex: "Only part?"
Munin: Yes part.
Alex dug into his hoodie pocket and pulled out a silver flask.
Alex: "Well, it's a pretty big part if you ask me. Of course, you didn't ask me though did you?"
He looked over at Munin and smirked at her. She returns his smirk with one of her own.
Munin: You think I need too?
Alex: "Nah because you know I'm in. You don't even have to question it. Hell, someone has to look after you."
She tucks her hands into her coat pockets with a pout.
Munin: I can stay out of trouble!
Without taking a drink Alex handed the flask her way.
Alex: "Sure you can Munin. Did you forget who you were talking to?"
Munin takes it without even thinking about it, and takes a drink. Her slight pout turning into a face of disgust instantly.
Munin: Eh! Whiskey!
Alex: "What? You don't like whiskey?"
Munin: Not cheap whiskey.
She hands back the flask nose wrinkled cutely as she does so. Alex took a big swig from the flask before putting the cap back on and sticking it in his pocket.
Alex: "What can I say? This company wouldn't pay me my worth so I get what I can."
Munin: Alex hun if you are going to buy whiskey you might as well buy the good stuff. I think that shit burned the enamel off my teeth.
Alex: "With what my looks? I mean I'm damn good looking but I don't think it'll get me good whiskey. Maybe bathtub brew but that's about it."
Munin gives a small humph as a cold wind blows, and she gave a small shiver.
Munin: Well now I know what to get you for Christmas.
Alex saw the quick shiver from Munin and he leaned over to unzip the black bag beside him. He pulled out a coat and handed it to Munin.
Alex: "Never say I wasn't nice to you."
She takes the coat from him with a grateful smile, and slips it over her own coat. His coat is over sized on her small body. Making her look almost like a child playing dress up.
Munin: Thank you.
Alex: "No problem."
She gives a genuine warm smile as she practically snuggles into the over sized coat. Content with the added warmth it gives her. As if by habit or reflex Alex put his arm up on the back of the bench and behind Munin's back.
Alex: "So lets talk about this federation. Where'd you find out about it?
Munin: I have an old friend that's in it. So when they sent me the offer I was inclined to look into it. Needless to say I liked what I saw.
Alex: "So what does Ms. Munin have her eyes set on then?"
Her chuckle fogs the cold air.
Munin: I'm not getting to far ahead of myself. Lets just say I have my eyed set on a few people.
As she says this her smile takes on a sharper edge.
Alex: "I know that look all to well. That look even scares me."
Munin: Its going to be sooo much fun.
A child like laugh tinkles through the cold night at his words.
Munin: Did I mention they still have a hardcore division. So they pay more...
Alex: "A hardcore division?"
Munin: Yes a hardcore division.
She can't help bit smile as his eyes light up like a little boys on Christmas morning.
Munin: You know they will never let anyone challenge Raze for his crown. Right? Whatever empty promises they have made you is bull shit.
Alex: "I don't care about the hardcore title Munin. My sights are set on that World Title."
He will remain the Thorn King until they close the whole company down.
Munin: Well to each their own I guess.
Shrugging her shoulders she looks up at the night sky. Or at least what she can see of it. Like a little kid quick to find a distraction.
Munin: I can't see the stars...Their are just to many lights I guess.
Alex looked up at the night sky.
Alex: "It's always hard to see them when you're in the city."
He turned to look back at Munin.
Alex: "I will say this. If I have to bust every one of those mother fuckers with a crow bar to get my shot at the World Title you can best believe I will. I'll start at the bottom and go right on up if need be."
Munin looks over at him with a rare soft smile. Soft is not a look one usually sees on her, but for a moment her masks and walls are stripped away.
Munin: I know...
It only lasts for a moment before it ends and she turns her face back towards the night sky.
Munin: I hate staying in the city.
Alex saw the look but didn't press the issue and instead looked away.
Alex: "I was raised in the country so city life is still foreign to me.
Munin: I can get by just fine in either, but I prefer the country....So I take it you're on board?
Alex let out a slight laugh.
Alex: "Like I'm gonna let you go have fun without me. Besides, I gotta make sure you stay in line remember?"
At that Munin gives another laugh.
Munin: Oh really, and which line would that be? Because I'm really good at drawing them.
Munin pulls a business card out from her coat pocket, ands hands it over to him.
Munin: Those are the people you need to talk too.
Alex took the card.
Alex: "I'll give them a call."
Munin glanced at her pocket watch.
Alex: "You got a plane to catch?"
Munin: Oh well. No rest for the wicked and all that. Thanks again for letting me use the coat.
Alex: "Where you off to?"
Munin: A sushi place down the way. They keep a traditional tea room believe it or not.
Alex: "At this time of night?"
Munin shrugs her shoulders.
Alex: "Sushi huh?"
Munin: For over a thousand dollars I don't mind meeting them in a semi public tea room at twelve am.
Alex: "Who are you meeting?"
Munin: A Mr. Steve Adler who fancies himself a weapons collector. Nosy much?
She gives a small smirk as she says this.
Alex: "Oh I can be pretty nosy. Not like I'm asking to tag along am I?"
Munin raises an eyebrow.
Munin: I don't know are you?
Alex: "Well if you insist."
He smiled as he gave her a playful jab in the side. Munin shakes her head at his audacity.
Munin: Uh huh if I insist he says. Just behave Mr. Pushy. Lets go though.
Alex got to his feet and looked over at Munin.
Alex: "Hey I was content with going back to my apartment and having a beer. You're the one that insisted I join you at a sushi bar at two in the morning."
Munin: I did nothing of the sort Mr. Pushy Pants!!!
He couldn't help but laugh as he grabbed his bag.
Alex: "It's your word against mine Ms. Munin and who's do you think carries more weight?"
Munin: Mine of course.
Alex: "Probably right."
Her laughter can be heard as they walk down the street. Alex put his arm around Munin's shoulders as he leaned in closer.
Alex: "Now don't think you can buy me shots all night and get me in bed. I'm not that kind of guy."
Munin rolls her eyes and shrugs his arm off.
Munin: Uh huh sure. I guess its your word against the Atlanta female population.
Alex clutches at his chest.
Alex: "That hurts Munin."
He smiles as he takes her small soft hand in his.
Alex: "Fine, I'll buy you shots tonight."
Munin just shakes her head with a smile.
Munin: Absolutely incourageable.
??: "Son of a bitch. Where did I put that thing?"
