Consol Energy Center - Backstage
David sat in one of the backstage locker rooms designated for Hall-of-Famers. His back was leaned against the wall directly behind the bench he sat on, a wet towel was draped over his head, and he had yet to change out of his wrestling gear. His return match against Thor had been a thing of beauty. Granted, it had gotten a little out of hand, what with Michael Rissi forgetting how to do his job and the match veering into hardcore territory - by no means his specialty - as a result, but in the end things had gone down exactly as he foresaw, exactly as he had foretold.
Kyle: You might've overdone it a bit, though.
David glanced down, out from under the towel, to where his phone sat on the bench beside him. No sooner had he gotten back to the locker room before Kyle called, and the two of them were discussing the way things had gone down via speaker-phone.
David: Overdone it?
Kyle: Yeah, hitting Rissi with the Susano'o like that. I know you wanted to get the guy's attention, but Dave, Facebook and Twitter are blowing up right now. People who were at the arena are saying he got carted out on a stretcher - I think you might've really hurt him.
David's brow furrowed at this.
David: Shit.
Kyle: Shit is right. Listen, man, I gotta go, but we'll talk more about this when you get back.
David: All right. Bye.
Kyle: Later.
There was a CLICK as Kyle hung up, and as David hit the 'End' button on his own phone someone knocked on the locker room door. Turning toward it, David lifted one edge of the towel on his head, peeking out from beneath it. The visitor could have been just about anyone - Lisa Caliber or Alexander Corvis, looking for an interview; Scorpion or another member of EHWF administration, looking to chew him out; even Nick Rissi, or any number of other wrestlers, looking for a piece of him after the display he'd put on earlier. After a moment's consideration, he pulled the towel completely off his head, settled back against the wall, and addressed whoever was standing outside.
David: It's open.
After a moment's silence, the handle turned and the door swung open.
TBC: Anyone (no physicality)
