Home.
That's what this felt like to him. Home.
He had signed a contract once again with EHWF. The place that he called home for somewhere close to three years. A place where he befriended some of his best friends, and made some of his greatest enemies. He looked to the wall of his locker room. He was a two time EHWF Champion. He was a one time EHWF Tag Team Champion. He was a hall of famer here. Hell, he was even the General Manager of Mayhem for a couple of months. This was the sight of many of his triumphs, and a couple of his failures.
A lot had changed since he had signed a talent contract here. He lost his mojo. There was a time that Eric had contemplated retirement, thought about calling it quits. He had been on a streak of bad luck. Every company he went two, he had a couple of matches and the place closed down. He was considering himself a black widow of sorts. He took in a deep breath.
PRIDE Pro was his new home, and he was the PRIDE World Television Champion. He held the belt in his lap, and gently stroked the golden belt. This is what he was working his ass off for, for quite some time. A Championship belt. Now that he had it. He realized that gold couldn't fix everything wrong inside of his heart, inside his soul. Enter Megan, EJ's wife, and their unborn child. A smile crept up on his face.
Between winning the championship, having a wife, and having a child in a few months, everything seemed primed to go right for him. And it was, it was. However, he had been thinking about this place more and more. The what if's and the could have been's here in EHWF. Which made him eager to resign a contract and come back to work. He closed his eyes and leaned his head back against the wall. His legacy depended on how he defined his career here. Everything that he had done since this place had been a failure. He needed to prove to himself that he was still the man that ran rough shot over EHWF years ago.
A small knock on the door roused him from his thoughts. He shifted uncomfortably on the bench, stood up, and slung his championship over his shoulder, going towards the door.
"Yeah? Who is it...?"
