I was thinking about this a few days ago when I was looking back at some of my old contracts. Scott Wilson had three different phases, which can be accurately described as "The Cody Rhodes phase", "The Jeff Hardy phase", and "The Magnus" phase.
I personally think my Cody Rhodes phase was the best version of Scott, but it can't be denied that 'Magnus' is doing pretty good for himself.
Has anyone else ever thought back to a time when your character was different from how you write them now?

Well I am not writing any more but when I was with Black Man he went through a few phases outside of EHWF that no one ever saw. Of course in EHWF he went from being a hero and savior to a heel and HHH real bad ass (with the Corporate Powers) like HHH was with Evolution.
Outside of EHWF I went with a 'Poster Boy' image and model of what a star should be and headline figure in another company. I had had the whole 'Hollywood' main stream type like Miz is doing currently in WWE.

When I first introduced the character of Bill Ryder back in 2005 he was a full blown baby face. My first run here in EHWF back in 2014 I kept him a face, as he became allies with Silver Kazama, Rose, and other faces such as Casey Bond. Since then, I switched him back and forth from being a Heel to somewhere along the lines of being a Tweener.
These last couple of months. I finally feel like I finally found the perfect balance with my character. I am slowly grooming him into being a full-blown egotistical heel inside the EHWF. I love balancing his love for his family and working it into his hatred for the people who will do anything to take his championship, legacy, and career away from him.
Becoming more in-depth with his personal thoughts through monologues is always a challenge, but I feel like it truly helps people understand the character better as he continues to evolve. Personally, I often struggle with writing up a shoot against someone, so I feel like the monologues help me build a stronger base of CD while my shoot might not come out as strong as I would like.
I will give anyone credit who can continue to use a character for a series of years and still continue to build that character, while still remaining creative, competitive, and relevant.

Phases of The Misfit
The Raven Stage: B.B.W Creator and Owner, twisted deranged boss/in ring performer.
The Punisher (Thomas jane): quiet loner with a slight drinking problem/depression.
Raven Revisited: "the misunderstood one" bat shit crazy. Insane asylum story line.
Seth Rollins phase: watered down version introduction of Mikey.
Bray Wyatt version: the creator/cult leader.
I guess my Oliver Black phase is misfit retired/father.
All have been very similar in character traits just exploring different background stories.

All my phases were very strange
Masked Cody Rhodes phase I was an ego maniac with the sole dream of being champion. Had a severe drug problem
Jeff Hardy phase I was scarred from the heartbreak of my personal life and home issues. Severe drug problem
Magnus phase saw Scott finally clean up his act and finally return to his fan favorite attitude

I've gone through a variety of phases with JD.
It started with your casual attitude era man trying to make it big with the Jeff hardy phase. Then came the big baller I'm better than everyone phase that spanned between Jeff Hardy, Drake, and Eminem. I never used drake here cause Rissi has him but when I came here I became the Eminem Jason Dave which was the most detailed version of Jason Dave.
I wrote some sick and twisted shit with my zero fucks given and psychotic phase of Jason Dave. I had him speaking to himself, his clown alter ego at some points which I adopted as an idea from a friend from a previous fed. I took a more sick and twisted mental approach where his dreams were sporadic and often left him severely injured in some way shape or form and that's always been a chip on the shoulder I've used that I like to relapse into every now and then. I relapsed briefly into it I think last year when I wrote an RP or two that contained Jason murdering a man, living in like a steam room setting and throwing his pregnant wife down the stairs and beating the child to death out of her. I wrote some really fucked up shit.
Now I'm more towards the recent Jake Gyllenhaal phase of being the bigger and better man and everything you see right now.
